News added on: 6 February 2022

It’s a few days that a delegation of the University of Parma is carrying out a new mission in Rwanda to achieve some face-to-face activities and to progress in the revision and setup of new programs in the Rwandan partner institutions.

A total of 3 teachers and 3 students from Parma, welcomed by Rwandan colleagues in a warm and friendly way, are currently in Rwanda:

  • Prof. Roberto Valentino, EnRHEd coordinator, is carrying out an intensive training in Soil Mechanics for students at INES-Ruhengeri: he is also coordinating several project activities by meeting the project managers at the 4 partner Institutions;
  • Prof. Davide Barbanti is  carrying out face-to-face training for teaching staff and students on Food Science and Technology (also combined with the online mode to give everyone the opportunity to participate);
  • Prof. Andrea Fabbri is carrying out an intensive training in the field of Agronomy for students at UTAB-Byumba.

Together with the teaching staff, 3 students from Parma are visiting the Food Engineering labs of the 4 Partner Institutions; they will also collaborate with the local staff in research activities in the next 6 months.

Although some staff from the Belgian University “Uliège” and the German University “RFH-Kohln” were supposed to join the EnRHEd delegation travelling to Rwanda, they could not travel due to the restrictions imposed by the anti-Covid regulations.

The slogan of these days that you will see recurring in our social channels will be a mixture of emotions, activities, projects, meetings, all under the banner of “EnRHEd is….”. Don’t miss the opportunity to tell us what you think about it, by completing the sentence yourself:

EnRHEd is……….. (now it’s your turn;))
