Following four intensive weeks of work, the Summer School in “Geomatics and Geotechnics” organised by the EnRHEd team based in ULIEGE has officially ended.

The 13 Rwandan participants recently left for Rwanda to bring back to their HEIs the know-how they learned during the many training sessions and workshops held during the Summer School.

Not only educational activities properly speaking, however, marked the success of the month-long event: countless opportunities to meet and visit laboratories and research centres undoubtedly enriched the attendees, demonstrating some of the technical aspects of engineering and geotechnics, such as the use of electronic instruments, drones and domotics to carry out research activities.

Several visits to Institutions such as the National Geographic Institute and the European Parliament also established new and stronger links with EnRHEd, fostering its dissemination and looking forward to future collaborations in the field of Higher Education.

How can we then forget the several leisure activities excellently organised by ULIEGE in order to create a close-knit group of colleagues as well as occasions for exchange aimed at establishing deep personal and professional relationships among the participants, such as to improve “Capacity Building” and collective and shared growth.

In short, we can only thank once again all those who organised and participated in this month’s Summer School with enthusiasm and dedication, wishing them to bring what they have learnt to as many colleagues and students as possible, so as to create true capacity building that will spread beyond the EnRHEd project itself.
