As we often told you in our webpage news, as EnRHEd Team we believe that cooperation and capacity building can only be real and easily achieved if combined with the sharing of projects and experiences and the ability to weave personal and professional relationships.

During these days of mobility, in which some 10 students and 2 lecturers from Rwanda came to UNIPR to collaborate with their European colleagues, participate in academic courses and trainings as well as implement research knowledge in different fields, the EnRHEd team also decided to organise a more informal meeting together with the Parma-based MENYA association, the aim of which is to support education and training to foster social and professional development in Rwanda as well as health education and promotion among the rural population and families with economic difficulties.

The meeting organised by EnRHEd and Associazione Menya attracted not only the Rwandan mobility participants of EnRHEd but also numerous other Rwandan students currently in Italy along with Italian students and friends who are particularly linked to Rwanda and to the EnRHEd project.

The meeting was the occasion to personally introduce themselves and wish a warm welcome to the EnRHEd mobility participants, who will stay in Italy for the next few weeks in order to continue their planned activities. The evening ended with refreshments with African and European specialities, amidst smiles and dancing that enlivened the attendees and will hopefully enable many to “build new bridges” between Rwanda and Europe.

Thanks to everyone who took part and in particular to Enathe Murekabiri, President of the Menya Association, for organising all this!
